Sometimes it takes just one cute and short email to have our hearts captivated and our attention on wanting to get to know the email sender. Such was the case when adorable Anna dropped us a line on a late Summer evening, sharing with us her plans and ideas for her elopement in Portugal.
After couple of more email exchanges we had arranged for a Skype chat just to discover to our great surprise and pleasure that Anna is my (Maria) compatriot! YEEEY! And we loved to get to know this sweet Polish lady living in the UK, planning to marry Richard, the love of her life at the beautiful grounds of Monserrate Palace. We haven´t met Richard until the eve of the couple´s elopement, but we soon realized that this couple was next level sweet . All our couples are special to us, aand the favourite part of our profession is the variety of people we are exposed to. And spending the afternoon in Anna and Richard´s precious company felt like spending a time with dear friends. We first met them at a central Lisbon hotel where the girls had their make up done, and the guys were chilling out just next door. It is not always that I have the opportunity to speak Polish at weddings, so the atmosphere couldn´t have been more familiar with the four of us, Pole girls giggling and chitchatting along the bridal preparations.
The heartfelt exchange of vows took place at Monserrate Palace´s Music room. Becky from Your Portugal Wedding conducted a memorable ceremony with a beautiful nuptial speech involving Anna and Richard´s story. After the “I Do” and some portrait taking at the gorgeous Sintra Palace, we all travelled back to Lisbon to hop on a classic, wooden Yacht for a couple of hours of cruise on the Tagus River. And it just couldn´t get more romantic then having sunset lit Lisbon and the Tagus River as a background for the wedding reception.
Throughout the afternoon we could see just how much friends meant to Anna and Richard, and how important it was for the newly weds to have them accompany this important life moment. It was also very inspiring to witness how much support the newly-weds are for one another as they enter into this new chapter of life.
Dearest Anna and Richard, we feel so blessed to have met you and so honoured have captured the beginning of your life together as husband and wife! We would like to wish you many blessings and happiness for the years to come and happy settling in Poland!
