It is often thanks to our wonderful couples that we get to know different corners of  beautiful Portugal, and Viana do Castelo has been the furthest  north  we´d travelled so far within the country.
Situated by the river Lima, and home to the stunning Santa Luzia Sanctuary, it is a lovely little town that should be on a visiting list to any explorer of the Portuguese coast.
It is also home to Francisco, who was born and raised here, so it was extra special to the couple to have their engagement session with Viana do Castelo as a background.

We started off at the Bizantine style Santa Luzia sanctuary, located up on a hill, overlooking the swathe of the Vale do Lima valley. The weather was just perfect on that day, as we were told we were up for some heavy showers. But apart from some light drizzle here and there, we didn´t even feel we were still in March. After enjoying some stunning views, we descended to the Viana do Castelo town centre where we had a stroll and some more picture taking.
This was a really cool day to hang out, and we were spoiled a big time by the sweet couple to some of the regional delicious pastries.
Thank you Sandra and Francisco for the nice afternoon together! Can´t wait to be sharing your beautiful wedding!viana-do-castelo-220
