Kristina & Luis – Alentejo Charms & Wedding Vibes

This beautiful Hotel Convento de São Paulo wedding in Evora had been long awaited not only by the couple, but very much by ourselves. We have heard of this Evora Wedding Venue for a few years, but never got the privilege and joy to photograph any wedding there up till now.

Located in Serra D´Ossa between Redondo town and Estremoz,this 12th century Convent transformed into a sophisticated Boutique Hotel is home to the biggest Tile collection in Portugal. As many as 54 thousand tiles adorn the walls, corridors, cloisters and patio making this location a perfect wedding venue in Alentejo. So the choice of wedding venue could not be other than Convento de São Paulo even more so that Luis was born in the neighbouring town of Redondo.

You might remember Kristina and Luis from their lovely Lisbon Engagement Session that we featured back in June.
After the Bairro Alto photo shoot we knew Kristina and Luis were going to be perfect photography models throughout their wedding day!

These two certainly know how to plan a wedding perfectly, choosing the most amazing vendors to make their wedding go flawlessly well! They also were so generous to offer us two night accommodations at the stunning hotel – placing us in one of the most tranquil side of the convent with a breathtaking view. Certainly an undeserved treat from this loving duo!!

The day started with the couple and their happy party chilling out by one of the Hotel´s pools. Then at around noon Kristina started to get ready in one of the top suites- while Luis continued enjoying the sunny afternoon with his friends by the pool.

It was a particularly hot day- quite expected from the Alentejo side of Portugal but the venue´s architecture and outdoor setting offered a great shelter from the burning Sun. Beautiful Kristina wore a stunning Justin Alexander wedding dress. Kristina has an amazing sense of style and we knew she would have picked a wedding gown that would accentuate her poise, beauty and feminie features.
In the late afternoon guests started gathering at one of the Hotel´s patio to witness the ceremony. It was certainly a beautiful event to photograph: Luis shedded a few tears when he saw Kristina coming down the aisle- something we alway cherish and are excited to capture.

The couple´s best friend Seth had conducted the wedding ceremony and among witty jokes he also shared some beautiful words:

“Let’s talk about Marriage and Love!Marriage is a commitment between two people. They bind themselves to each other and pledge to be there for each other through the great times, but most importantly through the tough times. And after knowing Kristina and Luís, I have no doubt that these two will stand the best of time. I´ve seen them love one another and I´ve seen them fight. But at the end of the day they both get it and they never once put anything else before each other. It is said that when a bride and a groom are on the altar they are closer to God. There is a sanctity in this moment. It is a time for all of us to take a second. Take a second to make a wish or say a prayer. Pray for your loved ones. Wish for peace on Earth, whatever it is you wish or pray for, now that is the time! But most importantly, make a small prayer for Kristina and Luis. Wish for everlasting love”

The most amazing sunshine came throughout the ceremony and looking at the newly wedded couple we could see just how true Seth´s words were. 

The rest of the day was just fun, drinks, laughter, singing and many pictures taken. And after the dinner and cake cutting a dance floor filled to the brim! Everything Kristina and Luis hoped for came true and we are so thrilled they got everything they could have imagined and more!⁠
